My dear, dear, mama-sister-girlfriend's book is out! All The World by Liz Garton Scanlon is a children's picture book you must own. It is the world we all want to give our children wrapped up in an amazingly illustrated book to behold - to read again and again and cherish as a classic. Visit Liz's site to learn more about the book and find out where to buy it. I am also proud to have designed Liz's new site - sweet, simple, and full of the stuff that's most important - Liz's work.
It turns out people don't buy many cards to say "I'm sorry" so I revamped this card, printed it without the words in hot pink and lime ink and called is "shy love". It's just too cute to sit on the shelf - oh and we added a little birdy to the back.
Available in stores soon or you can buy it online.
This tattoo was designed for my best bud JoAnna. I did the birds and the tattoo artist Pete did the flowers. The birds represent JoAnna and Joel and their brood including little Sophia who was not meant for this world but I'm sure is hovering close by - watching, protecting, and laughing out loud. Big love JoAnna, you are a brave good mama.
Today is a big day for us. We attended our youngest's graduation ceremony and watched him walk through the gates of life into our arms for his next big step into elementary school. After unsuccessfully holding back tears my husband and I grabbed a coffee at the drive-thru, I felt like I deserved a consolation pat on the back for not crumbling right there on the floor, in front of the entire school yelling, no! not him. Please don't let him grow up too soon - he's the last one! Can't he stay?
We laughed and cried, were proud and sad... and silent. It's true what they say, it does go by fast. And in that "fast" drive thru moment we were surprised when the girl at the window said "It's your lucky day! The gentleman ahead of you paid for your coffee because he wanted to pass on his good luck." What? And he was gone. Poof! The coffee elf had vanished. Now we want to pass it on. Wouldn't it be fun if we all passed it on? Picturing an endless ricochet of good luck and many more gate's of life ceremonies.

I'm double posting here and over at back and forth project. This picture pretty much sums up how we feel today. We got the green light, we have an agent! In just a few days from now our children's book Ruby and Esme will be landing on editor's desks far and wide. We should know something by mid-summer. Until then you can listen to Kathie and Bernadette's podcast interview over at craftypod...and then go on vacation and think bidding war for Ruby and Esme until you here from us again! How can you help us? Make a comment on the back and forth blog. Thank you!

I have much to blog about but can't seem to find the time. Posting a pic from Margaret's beautiful farm. Lots of printing, orders, and brainstorming going on in the studio.
