All four of these objects, images, endeavors, experiences are new to me as I trudge through the expansion of my little biz! I've never seen this plant, what is it? I love it. Those beautiful green branches are the famous Jason's design from Jasmine Black. Jennifer and Jason have been so kind to let me borrow their photopolymer plate since I don't have the right plates yet. I'm having second thoughts on letting go of the C&P pilot. I mean, look at it! Could you?!

My latest commission, my biggest one ever, an 18"x18" cake for my beautious friends Nathalie and Bil. That's them peacefully ruling the world, the production world that is, standing amongst the redwood forest trees with the ocean off in the distance. I can't wait to get a picture of the final cake hanging in their amazing house in California!

And last, look JoAnna!! I am attempting adventures in gardening. You can see the signs of my trusty helpers with their dump trucks nearby. I'll try to take pics weekly on the progress. The garden will be a mix of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Reallly excited about how this will add to our quality of life!

So much has been happening here in the studio and in my head. I've decided not to buy a C&P pilot table top press that is sitting in my studio. This is such an adorable letterpress machine but it simply doesn't serve my business and art needs for the future. I will post a picture of it tomorrow and if you are interested in owning a table top press then I'll gladly pass you on to the owner. You can email me with any questions.

I'm grateful to be busy filling orders weekly for stores on the East coast and backed up on commissions and two wedding invites coming up that I'll be letterpressing. I can't seem to keep the studio stocked fast enough although I'm getting better at eyeballing my inventory before I'm stuck empty handed.

I sometimes find it hard to remember that I'm happy doing this. I think once you wrap the necessity of a healthy cash flow, things get a bit warped. I forget to enjoy the creative work. I love what I do and I just need to keep the balance of inspiration, time and space to breathe, and the business side of my brain all equally balanced. My fab ladies biz group has been off for a couple of weeks and I think this has a lot to do with my funk. I find it so essential to have that support and sounding board. Got any tips? Please share!

Almost There

Here is another cake that is currently up a WATW. I have been swamped with printing another round of cards, commissions, filling orders, running errands. blah blah, blah. I'm also buying my own C&P pilot table top press (pics to come) and trying to figure out how to get a good impression. If anyone out there is an expert please email me. I've done all my printing on a Vandercook, learning a platen press is another hurdle. Happy to be on the track!
