Did I say I was going to blog last week? Um...I meant to. I did do my taxes, sent out lots of orders and rewarded myself with a trip to the Blanton to see the Birth of the Cool mid-century modern exhibit. I loved it, an era after my own heart. I forget that these trips are essential for new ideas. So if you're feeling like you can't take a break because work is work and gallery hopping is play, get your keys, bike, or walking shoes on and head out before your bubble bursts.
After leaving Birth of the Cool, my head swimming with Eames, Duke Ellington, Saul Bass, and countless other inspirations we see that not a stones throw away there are pigs, goats, and champion steers raised by 4H youth grazing in front of the Bob Bullock museum. This little bovine buddy below sold for $50 grand. $50k!! What?!
We never forget we're in Texas.
I wonder if Mr. Champion likes letterpress cards...
Shan-
thanks for the reminder about that exhibit. I love the idea of it being a reward. And The Blanton is free on Thursdays isn't it? Your photographs are looking supertastic, sister!

We weren't fortunate to enough to partake of the bovine goodies, by My Littles and I visited the COOL exhibit during spring break. I could SO easily have existed in CA in the 50s. It was WONDERFUL.
